My book
Philosophy and Finance: A Love Story
Once, Philosophy and Economics (oikonomikḗ) walked side by side. They questioned the meaning of life, the essence of justice, the nature of the common good. They asked not only how much something was worth — but what was truly worth valuing. This book tells the story of that ancient, passionate, and interrupted love. A story of Agápē. And of the longing to mend what was torn apart.
Philosophy and Finance: A Love Story is a journey through centuries of thought — from the wisdom of the Greek philosophers to the tangled complexity of modern markets. It is an invitation to rediscover Philosophy not as abstract theory, but as an art of living. And to reclaim finance not as a cold mechanism, but as a powerful force that can — and must — serve life.
Along the way, you will meet philosophers, emperors, slaves, monks, economists, and visionaries. You will explore the spiritual exercises once used to calm the mind, nourish the soul, and restore inner balance. You will revisit the moral roots of economics — an ethics-infused tradition that, only in recent times, lost sight of the good.
With clarity, intimacy, and intellectual depth, the author weaves personal experience, systemic thinking, and civic passion into a bold new vision: An economy rooted not in endless growth, but in human flourishing. A financial system that protects, transforms, and uplifts. A society where we are no longer homo oeconomicus, but relational beings — awake, responsible, and capable of care: homo altruisticus.
This is a book about capital and conscience. About numbers and soul. It’s a call to slow down. To reflect. To wake up. To look within — for that is where true change begins. Because every real revolution — ethical, economic, human — starts from within.
